Joe’s Biography
Joe Jaxxson: WA-Based Rock Musician
I was born in Colchester, England and spent many years living in Africa. I then moved to West Australia in 1999 and am now based in Perth.
I was raised from an early age on a diet of “Pub Style Singalong” songs, sprinkled with a generous measure of 60s music. I soon developed a deep love for all things music.
I bought my first guitar from a High School friend at the age of 13. It was a complete wreck and unable to stay in tune, but it was still worth the one dollar I paid for it!
I taught myself two chords and was up and running. This set me up for a lifetime of practice and learning that continues today.
Forming a band with friends at age 14, we had our first “gig” at the local cinema during the intermission. The “gig” was a disaster, but the seed was sown… I wanted to be a muso!
I played in a duo during the 80s, hitting the folk clubs and pub scenes, which were popular at the time. I found a love for entertaining and sought out opportunities to play for people and friends wherever I could.
Nowadays, I concentrate my ability as a S.A.M. (Solo Acoustic Musician) at venues around Western Australia.
My music style can be best described as “Toe Tapping Tunes” and “Feel Good” genre.
My setlists are adaptable, depending on the audience. Basically, a staple diet of covers: 60s to 90s and a few newer hits. I am also capable of performing requests ‘on the fly.’
I use all my own top of the range equipment and instruments, which I supply, carry and setup myself.
I am professional, reliable and easy to deal with. No “Male Diva Complex” here! I spend a lot of time compiling setlists for a particular venue or occasion and often visit a new venue beforehand to make sure things run smoothly on the day.
I have previously performed in Pubs, Beer Gardens, Corporate Events, Restaurants/Coffee Shops, Aged Care Facilities, Nursery Schools and Private Birthday Parties.

In Loving Memory
The Morris Tornado Guitar (above, middle) is the oldest and the most precious of the Armoury. I am the Custodian of this instrument, not its owner. Sadly, the rightful owner will never experience the joy of playing it. It remains in my possession until passed on to the next custodian in our family. RIP.
